There are many hearing aid solutions from a number of manufacturers available on the market. This section highlights some of the latest and best technology currently available. However, this list is not all inclusive. We work with well-known hearing aid brands such as, Phonak, Starkey and Lyric.
Phonak Audeo B
The latest release from Phonak is the Audéo Belong, a sleek receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) style hearing aid available in four technology levels and five separate models. Included in the Audéo Belong release is Phonak’s first rechargeable hearing aid. Offering a 24 hour lifespan between charges, the rechargeable Audéo Belong is great option for people who do not want the hassle of disposable batteries.
Starkey Soundlens Synergy
This invisible-in-the-canal (IIC) hearing aid from Starkey Hearing Technologies provides an excellent option for individuals looking for a discrete hearing aid solution. The Soundlens is custom made by making an earmold impression of your ear and sits deep inside the canal, making it completely invisible in most ears. This product is appropriate for individuals with mild to moderately-severe hearing loss and is available in three technology levels.
Lyric is the first extended wear hearing device that is 100% invisible. It is comfortably placed in the ear canal by our Lyric trained audiologists and can be worn 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Because it remains in the ear canal 24/7, you do not need to worry about putting the device on or taking it off, or changing batteries. The device is removed and replaced every 6 to 12 weeks at our office. Although this device is not appropriate for all people or hearing loss severities, the Lyric 3 provides a great solution for individuals looking for effortless hearing.
Phonak Virto B-Titanium
The Virto B-Titanium is Phonak’s smallest invisible-in-the-canal (IIC) hearing aid released to date. Made from medical grade titanium, the Virto B-Titanium is vastly more durable than previous Phonak IIC products. The improved durability has also allowed for the hearing aid to be made significantly smaller which has increased the number of ears it can be fit on. This discrete hearing aid solution is available in two technology levels.
Starkey Halo 2
This RIC style hearing aid is one of only a handful of Made for iPhone hearing aids currently available on the market. The Halo 2 on Starkey’s Synergy platform allows the user to directly connect with Apple products including iPhone, iPad, and the Apple Watch without the use of an additional Bluetooth Streamer. Through the use of the TruLink app, you can seamlessly control the functions of your hearing aid and stream phone calls and music. The Halo 2 is available in three technology levels.
Phonak Naida V
The Naida Venture is a powerful behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid from Phonak used for individuals with severe to profound hearing loss. The Naida V is available in three power levels and four technology levels, and is compatible with a variety of FM solutions.
Hearing Aid Styles
When shopping for a hearing aid, it’s important to choose a model that’s right for your degree of hearing loss whether it be sensorineural, conductive or mixed. At Family Hearing Care, we carry a variety of hearing aid styles made by top manufacturers to ensure we have the latest technology and can fit you properly to accommodate your hearing loss.
In-The-Ear hearing aids are worn in the outer ear, making them easy to adjust. ITE hearing aids work well for people with mild to severe hearing loss.
As the name suggests, In-The-Canal hearing aids fit almost entirely in the ear canal. This style is great for individuals with a mild to moderate hearing loss.
These small hearing aids are custom made to fit comfortably in the ear canal. Although virtually invisible to others, they provide excellent sound for people with mild to moderate hearing loss.
This hearing aid style rests behind the ear with a receiver that extends into the ear canal. RITE hearing aids are ideal for those with normal or near normal low frequency hearing along with mild to moderate high frequency hearing loss.
BTE hearing aids provide more amplification than any other hearing aid style. It is widely used for almost all types of hearing loss.
CROS AND BICROS
CROS and BICROS hearing aids allow a user with profound or complete hearing loss in one ear to hear sounds from the non-hearing side in the better ear. The system sends sound wirelessly from the non-hearing side (via a CROS transmitter) to a discreet sound receiver on the hearing ear.
Assistive Listening Devices
Assistive listening devices (ALDs) are instruments designed for special listening situations and may be used alone or in conjunction with hearing aids. These include telephone amplifiers, television listening systems, FM systems, and alerting devices. You can arrange for the purchase of many ALDs at Family Hearing Care.
Hearing Protection Devices
Electronic hearing protection devices (HPDs) provide protection from loud noises while allowing normal conversation through, so you stay aware of your surroundings. Stock and custom earplugs for hearing protection can be obtained in our office, as well as custom-fitted earplugs to protect ears from water.
